Temple City : New General Plan Adopted

The City Council has adopted a new General Plan that lowers potential density.

Dale Beland, a consultant who has worked with the city on the new plan, said that it reduces long-term development and stabilizes existing single-family neighborhoods. Residential density has been revised so that low density is a maximum of 6 dwelling units per acre, medium a maximum of 12 and high a maximum of 24.

The plan was adopted after nearly a year of public hearings, at which residents expressed concern about noise, traffic and potential density. Most residents said they wanted Temple City to remain single-family residential.
