Third baseman Robin Ventura of Oklahoma State set an NCAA record Friday night in a Big Eight Conference tournament game against Missouri at Oklahoma City by hitting in his 48th consecutive game.
Ventura, a sophomore, broke the record of 47 set in 1981 by Phil Stephenson of Wichita State.
At Edinburg, Tex., Donald Guillot of Pan American set an NCAA record for stolen bases in a season by stealing his 105th against Southern Louisiana.
The record of 104 was set by Tim Barker of Central Florida in 1985.
