Valencia’s Burbank Is Orange MVP

Dennis Burbank, the Valencia High School pitcher who went 12-3 with a 1.86 earned-run average to lead the Tigers to the Orange League championship, has been named the league’s most valuable player in a vote of league coaches.
Burbank struck out 120 and walked only 36 in 105 innings. He also threw a no-hitter to give Valencia a 2-0 victory over Savanna in the last game of the regular season.
Valencia’s Kevin McConnell and Brea-Olinda’s Steve Hiskey were named co-coaches of the year.
