We were scanning the illustrious credits of Jerry Bruckheimer and Don Simpson, the brains behind “Beverly Hills Cop II,” the summer sockeroo. In the press-kit production notes, we noticed the absence of a certain stinkero.
No--we’re not talking about “Flashdance,” “Top Gun” and “BH Cop I.”
We’re talking about “Thief of Hearts,” the 1984 romantic thriller that came and went very quickly. It was the first film to be made under Simpson-Bruckheimer Prods.’ deal with Paramount.
Digging into the files, we found the “Thief” press kit: It began, “What do you do when your dreams come true?”
