Stanford has moved to intervene in the pending action brought by several of the school’s athletes challenging the legality of the NCAA’s mandatory drug-testing program.
Stanford attorneys filed a motion in Santa Clara County Superior Court asking to join the lawsuit as a third party. A hearing on the request was set for July 20.
Stanford will ask that the university not be required to enforce the drug-testing program until a final determination is made on its legality, a spokesman said.
