Gardena : Tougher Ban on Parking
The City Council introduced an ordinance that would enable police to issue citations when cars are parked on front or side yards.
Currently, violators of the City Code restricting parking on front or side yards are contacted by the Community Development Department in response to neighborhood complaints.
Councilman Paul Tsukahara asked the city staff to prepare a report on possible exemptions to the ordinance for residents who have small driveways, limited street parking or other “hardship” situations.
The council will cast its final vote on the ordinance July 14.
