A former Chicago alderman was found innocent of charges that he beat and pistol-whipped his secretary. Wallace Davis Jr., 35, had been charged with aggravated battery, unlawful restraint and reckless conduct in the Feb. 25 beating of Joanne McKinley, 33. A Cook County Criminal Court jury deliberated about four hours before returning the verdict during the fourth day of the trial.
