L.A. Presidential Debate Slated

WASHINGTON — The League of Women Voters announced today that it will hold presidential and vice presidential debates in Los Angeles; Birmingham, Ala.; Boston, and Minneapolis during the general election campaign in the fall of 1988.
Continuing the fight to be the major sponsor of debates, the nonpartisan group is pressing ahead with its plans for three presidential confrontations and one vice presidential debate despite announcements by the Democratic and Republican parties that they will sponsor debates for the first time next year.
