Goaltender Kelly Hrudey stopped 17 shots as Team Canada blanked Team USA, 3-0, in a Canada Cup exhibition hockey game at the Forum in Montreal.
It was the second straight exhibition victory by Team Canada over the United States, which lost, 3-2, in Ottawa Thursday night.
The shutout bolstered Hrudey’s chances of making the team as the third goaltender. His best stop came late in the second period when he gloved a slapshot by Bobby Carpenter from the right of the slot.
