“T Bone Burnett.” Dot. Burnett has spent so much time producing others in recent years he hasn’t had much time to record himself, thus the gap between this newest collection and 1983’s “Proof Through the Night” album. There’s less of Burnett’s stunning lyrical wit here (though the brilliant wordplay in “River of Love” shows he’s still capable), but he remains a trenchant observer of family relationships and personal values. Recorded live with no overdubs in Nashville, the fully digital CD sparkles with a back-porch intimacy and includes two more songs than the LP. Sound quality: excellent. *** 1/2
