Nine major Japanese banks are expected to agree at a meeting today to participate in BankAmerica Corp.’s capital raising plan, Japanese banking sources said. After formally confirming their commitment, the banks will form a syndicate including other Japanese banks to buy $250 million in subordinated capital notes that San Francisco-based BankAmerica plans to issue to boost its weakened capital base.
