Derrick McKey, last year’s Southeastern Conference basketball player of the year who was declared ineligible for accepting money from a sports agent, has enrolled for the fall semester at the University of Alabama and wants to play his senior season.

But whether the 6-foot-9 center will take the court this year for the Crimson Tide or for the Seattle SuperSonics of the National Basketball Assn. depends on whether the university elects to file a precedent-setting appeal with the NCAA.
