Shultz to Visit Mideast Before Moscow Trip

UNITED NATIONS — Secretary of State George P. Shultz will visit Israel, Egypt and Jordan before going to the Soviet Union next month, the State Department said today.
Shultz’s spokesman, Charles Redman, noted that Shultz has not visited the region for some time and wants to examine the prospects for advancing the peace process. Shultz is scheduled to visit the Soviet Union Oct. 22-23.
