Anteaters Defeat UC San Diego, 1-0

Kevin Peterson scored a goal at the 64:36 mark to lead UC Irvine to a 1-0 victory over UC San Diego in a men’s soccer match Sunday at Irvine.

Peterson, a senior forward, scored from 10 feet on a header, with an assist from sophomore Bill Kollias.

Goalkeeper Mike Gartlan, who recorded his second shutout of the year, had six saves for the Anteaters (3-5).

Brian Siljander had four saves for UC San Diego.
