Pros and Cons on California’s Mandatory Auto Insurance Law
- Share via
The recent decision upholding the mandatory auto insurance law is a step in the right direction. However, it is only a small part of the solution to the problem of uninsured drivers on California roads.
It is very easy to drive a car without a license or without liability insurance. Statistics prove that only too well. However, it is impossible to drive a car without gasoline. I propose that insurance companies provide their customer with a plastic card similar to a credit card verifying that the individual has liability insurance. Presentation of that card would become mandatory before one could purchase gasoline.
