PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti — The party offices of four centrist presidential candidates were attacked during a night of violence in the coastal city of St. Marc, torching one building, radio stations reported Friday.
The unidentified assailants burned down the offices of candidate Louis Dejoie II and ransacked the headquarters of Marc Bazin, Leslie Manigat and Francois Latortue in the Wednesday night attacks, Radio Metropole and Radio Haiti Inter said. There were no reports of injuries.
Dejoie, Bazin and Manigat are considered among the front-runners in the Nov. 29 elections, the first in the impoverished Caribbean nation in 30 years.
