Unannounced Meeting on Warner Ridge

On Oct. 30, you published a factual account of a community meeting held at the Kadima Hebrew Academy. What was not reported was the fact that the organizers of the meeting did not feel it necessary to notify the entire community of the meeting. By this time, thanks to the news coverage, the community is now informed and justifiably outraged over the developers’ new proposal.
The Woodland Hills Homeowners Organization has for the past 12 months been addressing the issue of the proposed Warner Ridge development. In so doing, it has kept the entire community informed as to issues and status. This meeting, orchestrated by the developer, was an insult to the intelligence of this community and reflected total lack of understanding as to the true degree of community resistance that exists toward their project.
One would think that with all the time, effort and public relations work this developer has invested in trying to “sell” his project to the community over the past few months, he would at some point in time come to admit to the fact that the community is not “buying.” Efforts to divide this community are, therefore, fruitless and cannot succeed.
Our organization has consistently urged this developer to heed the concerns of this community and develop a project consistent with the existing zoning of RA-1 on the parcel, one that both he and the community could proudly support. Based on his public relations track record, we renew this urging and trust that he will finally respond to community sentiment.
