A man was shot in the neck and critically wounded early Tuesday as he was trying to change a flat tire on his car along the San Bernardino Freeway in Alhambra, police said.
Miguel Soto, 18, was driving east on the freeway just east of the Long Beach Freeway at 3 a.m. when a tire went flat, Alhambra Police Lt. Robert Smith said. Soto was changing the tire when two men pulled up in another car, got out and shot him during what may have been a robbery attempt, Smith said.
California Highway Patrol officers found Soto wounded and called paramedics who rushed him to County-USC, where he was listed in critical condition.
