Cleveland Rejects Appeal by Gray

Cleveland High officials Wednesday rejected the appeal of basketball player Michael Gray, who has been ruled academically ineligible for the first 10 weeks of the season. The earliest Gray can rejoin the team is Feb. 8.
Gray failed a government class and City Section rules mandate that for students to participate in extracurricular activities they maintain a C average with no failing grades.
Gray, who signed a letter of intent to play at Long Beach State during the early signing period this month, is a 6-0 senior guard who averaged 13 points a game last season.
