A seat on the New York Stock Exchange has been sold for $650,000, down from the $800,000 paid when a seat was last sold, on Nov. 30, the exchange said. The NYSE refused to identify who bought or sold the seat. Since the stock market collapse on Oct. 19, the price paid for an NYSE seat has fluctuated from a high of $875,000 that day to a low of $625,000 on Oct. 26. On Sept. 21, about a month before the crash, a seat sold for $1.15 million, believed to be the highest price ever paid for a seat on the exchange.
