Drug Dealers Reportedly Kidnap Bogota Candidate

BOGOTA, Colombia — Drug traffickers facing extradition to the United States said Friday that they hold Bogota mayoral candidate Andres Pastrana as hostage, the candidate’s brother reported.
Pastrana, 34, was kidnaped last Monday night at his campaign headquarters, according to his brother, Juan Carlos Pastrana. He did not disclose the identity of the kidnapers or their demands. Government officials have said that extradition to the United States is the only thing the drug traffickers really fear.
