Local News in Brief : Funeral Home Charges
- Share via
The owners and operators of Lamb Funeral Home in Pasadena, already facing charges of stealing body parts and mutilating corpses, have pleaded not guilty to new charges of bribing witnesses.
David Sconce and his parents, Jerry Sconce and Laurieanne Lamb Sconce, were also charged with conspiracy to obstruct justice and solicitation of a witness to commit perjury.
A preliminary hearing is under way in Pasadena Municipal Court to determine whether the three should face trial in Superior Court in connection with the earlier charges.
The district attorney’s office has now filed 68 misdemeanor and felony counts, including commingling human remains and cremating several bodies at the same time, against the Sconces. They were first charged after a raid last January at a ceramics plant in Hesperia that investigators said was used as an illegal crematory by the three.
