A 21-year-old Santa Ana man standing in his driveway was critically wounded Thursday night in what police are calling a drive-by gang shooting.
Jose Arcedes, 21, was listed in critical condition Friday at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital with a gunshot wound in his back, authorities said.
Police Department spokeswoman Maureen Thomas said that shortly after 7:30 p.m. an unidentified person drove past Arcedes’ house in the 800 block of South Diamond Street with the headlights turned off and fired three shots.
Arcedes, standing in his garage with the door opened, was struck once in the back, she said.
Police have no description of the car or the person who fired the shot, but they believe that the shooting was gang related, Thomas said.
