Local News in Brief : City Board Changes Urged
- Share via
A committee examining ways to reorganize Pasadena’s government has recommended that voters elect the mayor, rather than continue to have the position rotated among members of the Board of Directors.
Under the plan, which must ultimately be approved by voters, two new members--the elected mayor and an additional director--would be added to the seven-member board.
The board is expected to act on the plan by March 7 so that the proposals can be placed on the June ballot. The committee’s report is the culmination of three years of study of ways to improve city government.
