Ramona 56, St. Augustine 51--Ramona moved into the championship game against Lincoln by holding off St. Augustine in the fourth quarter with solid free-throw shooting.
The Saints, led by Doug Carter, hit four three-pointers in the final period, but Jason McClenaghan hit 5 of 6 free throws to keep Ramona on top.
The game was lost at the free-throw line for St. Augustine, which was just 9 of 22. Ramona was 16 of 24.
Nate Hollingsworth scored 18 points, including four three-pointers, for Ramona. Carter scored 18 for St. Augustine.
GIRLS
Lincoln 54, University of San Diego High School 49--Keiba Lewis scored 30 points, had 11 rebounds and 6 blocked shots to lead Lincoln to the final against top-seeded Ramona Friday at the San Diego Sports Arena. Michelle Powell had 16 points for second-seeded Lincoln (16-7). Anne Casey scored 17 points and Amy Seidlinger added 15 to lead USDHS (11-7). Lincoln led, 39-31, entering the fourth quarter. The closest USDHS could get was 46-41 with 3:40 remaining.
Ramona 54, Our Lady of Peace 28--Ramona held Our Lady of Peace to four points in the first quarter and never trailed after leading, 27-13, at the half. Our Lady of Peace (12-15) was led by Callie Palen’s eight points.
