KUWAIT — Kuwait’s crown prince and prime minister, Sheik Saad al Abdullah al Sabah, and sheiks from the ruling Sabah family led hundreds of mourners Thursday at the funerals of two Kuwaitis slain by the hijackers of a Kuwait Airways jumbo jet.
Cabinet ministers, government officials, sobbing relatives and friends of the two dead men took part in the funeral procession.
Hundreds of Kuwaitis and members of the Persian Gulf state’s large expatriate community accompanied the procession as a military honor guard escorted the bodies of fireman Khalid Ayoub Bandar, 20, and Abdullah Shibib Khalidi, 24, an officer in Kuwait’s border regiment.
