AMC Entertainment Inc. reported a loss of $13.8 million for fiscal 1988, compared to a loss of $6 million for 1987. Revenue totaled $431.7 million, up 36% from a year ago. The movie theater operator, headquartered in Kansas City, Mo., attributed the results to its unsuccessful attempt to establish a new business involving retail food establishments. The company also said it may sell theaters in certain U.S. markets to raise additional financing.
