Arts Groups Earn Matching Grants

Twenty-two Los Angeles County arts organizations have been awarded $85,000 in matching grants from the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the National/State/County Partnership, a challenge grant program to help arts organizations that have limited access to private, corporate or governmental aid.
The top grant recipients are At Twilight/Shakespeare Festival, $7,500; Padua Hills Playwrights’ Workshop/Festival, $7,500; Independent Feature Project/West, $6,500; Santa Monica Museum of Art, $6,000, and the TheatreWorker’s Project, $6,000.
Funds for the partnership were provided by National Endowment for the Arts, California Arts Council and the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors’ Music and Performing Arts Commission. Applications are available through the Partnership office: (213) 974--1343. The deadline is Sept. 2.
