Local News in Brief : Gang Death Suspect Held

Sheriff’s deputies arrested a third suspect Thursday in the April gang-related slaying outside a theater showing the gang movie “Colors,” authorities said.

Members of the sheriff’s Operation Safe Streets anti-gang unit arrested Andrew Jones, 21, about noon, Deputy Detta Roberts said. Jones, one of three suspects in the April 24 shooting death of David Dawson, 19, of Stockton, was booked at the Carson sheriff’s station on suspicion of murder and held in lieu of $500,000 bail, Roberts said.

Jones and two other gang members, Charles Queen and Herman St. Aimie, both 21, were waiting in line at the Regency Theater in Stockton to view the movie when a fight broke out with Dawson, who was a member of a rival gang, Roberts said.
