Science fiction writer Edgar Hoffman (Trooper) Price, 89, whose novels included “Operation Misfit,” “Operation Long Life,” “The Jade Enchantress,” “Operation Exile” and “The Devil Wives of Li Fong.” After an early military career, which included service in the Philippines and combat in France during World War I, Price turned to fiction writing in 1923.
