The Pasadena Weekly and Altadena Weekly have been sold for an undisclosed amount to Pasadena Publications, a company owned by James P. Laris and Margaret D. Wood. The small weekly newspapers, with a combined circulation of about 50,000, were bought in January by Los Angeles lawyer Richard J. Riordan and Susan R. Laris, founder and president of the Downtown News Group. “We were able to turn it around and make a pretty fair profit in five months,” said Susan Laris, who formerly was married to James Laris.
