A fire described as suspicious raged through a small fundamentalist Christian church in Willowbrook Monday, causing $350,000 in damage, officials said.
The fire began at 3:13 a.m. in the one-story, wood-frame Bethel Pentecostal Holy Church at 1942 E. El Segundo Blvd., county Fire Capt. Dennis Walsh said. The blaze was extinguished in 30 minutes, Walsh said. No injuries were reported.
“Basically there’s no reason for the fire to have started where it did and we’re trying to determine how it began,” Walsh said.
