Police are investigating the death Sunday of a 4-year-old Tijuana child during his family’s visit to a motel in San Ysidro, Police Department spokesman Bill Robinson said.
A worker from the Mexico Gateway TraveLodge on East San Ysidro Boulevard called the police and paramedics at about 3 p.m. Sunday when the parents of Jesus Paul Hernandez Arce of Tijuana reported that he had a distended abdomen and was vomiting blood.
Paramedics gave the child CPR en route to Scripps Memorial Hospital in Chula Vista, where the child died at about 4 p.m.
The cause of the child’s death is still undetermined, according to Supervising Deputy Coroner Max Murphy.
