Imagine how offensive “Big” might seem had the genders been reversed.
The notion that modern men yearn for a 13-year-old girl in a woman’s body would be repulsive to most Americans, as Roman Polanski learned the hard way.
Also, the assertion that the childlike man is a cherished female fantasy figure is kind of laughable: The childlike man is the reality, while the very elusive grown-up man in fact remains the fantasy.
