Surfers Belanger, Keenan, Edgar Advance

Three Orange County surfers advanced Friday in the $17,000 U.S. Pro Tour of Surfing and Bodyboarding event in San Clemente.
Mark Belanger of Laguna Niguel, Ryan Keenan of Huntington Beach and Gary Edgar of Fountain Valley moved to the third day of the four-day contest.
Mike Lambresi of Carlsbad and Dino Andino of San Clemente are among the top eight seeded surfers who received byes until today’s quarterfinal round.
Surfing is scheduled to begin at noon today. Trial heats in the bodyboarding competition will be concluded starting at 3 p.m.
The semifinals of the surfing will be held Sunday at 6 a.m. and the finals at 1 p.m.
