Colorado Town to See Red--and Green Too

FRASER, Colo. — Progress has found its way to this mountain community in the form of the first traffic light in Grand County.
The light is scheduled to go up at U.S. 40 and County Highway 72, the entrance to a shopping center that has created periodic traffic jams.
The busy ski resorts of Winter Park and Silver Creek, about 75 miles northwest of Denver, are nearby.
“We’ve had lots of injury accidents at that intersection in the past three or four years, but fortunately no one has been killed,” said Richard A. Leonard, a Grand County commissioner.
The signal will leave only 18 of Colorado’s 63 counties without traffic lights.
