Valley Overpowers Seahawks, 30-20

Harbor College went without assistant Coach Jim True and the intensity it needed to overcome Valley College Saturday night.
True was suspended from Saturday night’s Western State Conference clash for shoving Seahawk trainer David Lew during Harbor’s 47-10 loss to Bakersfield last week. Harbor Coach Chris Ferragamo stressed discipline this week to counteract the Bakersfield debacle that also included four players being ejected.
The problem Saturday night was that the Seahawks (1-4) were too disciplined and let Valley (3-1) power its way to a 30-20 win.
“We were too good, too perfect,” Harbor Coach Chris Ferragamo said. “We have to be tougher.”
Harbor gained 160 yards on 39 carries and 148 yards passing on the combined efforts of Eddie Lopez and Grant Beachley.
A brisk breeze helped Harbor’s Luis Solario boom field goals of 45 and 42 yards in the first quarter, lifting the Seahawks to 6-0 lead.
