NICOSIA, Cyprus — Iran reported that another 3,000 Iraqi Kurds crossed into its territory from Turkey on Wednesday and said Ankara appears reluctant to house the refugees.
Tehran Radio, monitored in Nicosia, said the latest arrivals raised to about 8,000 the number of Kurdish refugees who have crossed from Turkey in the last two days. It said a total of more than 32,000 refugees have entered Iran since mid-July when Iraqi forces began an offensive against Kurdish rebels in northern Iraq.
