Defending champion Brad Parks of San Clemente defeated Pierre Fusade of France, 6-0, 6-1, in the opening round of the U.S. Open Wheelchair Tennis Championship at the Racquet Club of Irvine.
Parks, the tournament’s top-seeded man, has won the event 3 times.
