A Neat Trick

We were very interested in Cruise Views, “Classic Monterey Returns to Hawaiian Islands” by Shirley Slater and Harry Basch (Oct. 20), on the return of the Monterey to cruising in Hawaii. We recently were able to tour the ship due to our son’s membership in the Master, Mates & Pilots Assn.
We were even more intrigued to read of the ship’s first departure from Honolulu. The article said: “The lights of Honolulu sparkled against the sky and a round, full moon shone down. It was so magical that Aloha Pacific has scheduled it to be repeated on all subsequent Saturday night sailings.” A neat trick! Provided the firm can get the Prophet Joshua to arrange for a full moon every week.
