Golfer George Knudson, once described by Ben Hogan as having the sweetest swing on the PGA Tour, died after a long battle with cancer. He was 51.
Winner of 8 tournaments between 1961 and 1972, Knudson had planned to join the PGA Seniors Tour in the fall of 1987. He turned 50 on June 28, 1987, just days after entering the hospital for chest scans and bone marrow analysis.
