Several hotel discount programs are in effect.
Days Inns plans to continue its Simple Super Saver program indefinitely at more than 720 properties in 47 states plus Canada.
The cost is $19 to $39 a night, up to four guests per room, at participating hotels. Prices represent up to 20% in savings over regular rates. In some cities there might be a $10 surcharge.
Reservations must be made at least 29 days in advance and the first night must be prepaid. No weekend or holiday restrictions, but rooms are on a space-available basis. No penalty for cancellations up to 15 days before arrival.
Contact Days Inns toll-free at (800) 325-2525 or travel agents.
Outrigger Hotels Hawaii has expanded and extended its “Waikiki Free Ride” car/room promotion, which provides a free car rental for each day in the hotel at regular room rates. Car-rental taxes, however, are not included. Cars are compacts with automatic shifts, from Dollar Rent A Car.
Request the package when you make a reservation. Contact Outrigger Hotels at (800) 367-5170 or travel agents.
Check the Baja Travel Pass discount booklet offered by the Hoteles La Pinta chain. The $199 booklet provides four coupons that represent about a 25% discount off regular rates. Coupons are for two and include breakfasts at the hotel. A 15% room tax is extra.
Participating La Pinta hotels are in Ensenada, San Quintin, Catalina, Guerro Negro, San Ignacio and Loreto. Regular rate at La Pinta hotels, except at Ensenada and Loreto, is $58 per room for one or two guests. With the coupon it would drop to about $50.
La Pinta hotel in Ensenada has a weekend rate of $60 and weekday rate of $45. At Loreto it’s $49 all week.
Coupons are valid through this year. Contact the hotel’s representative, San Diego-based Amex Ltd., at (800) 262-2656.
