Four senior Romanian officials, including the finance minister, deputy premier and national bank governor have been dismissed, Bucharest Radio reported. The report said Finance Minister Gheorghe Paraschiv, Deputy Premier Neculai Ibanescu, National Bank chief Florea Dumitrescu and Bank of Agriculture head Nicolae Eremia were fired for “unsatisfactory activity” in managing the country’s finances. The radio report, monitored by the British Broadcasting Corp. in Vienna, said the four were guilty of “seriously violating legal provisions in granting credits and eliminating losses in the activity of some economic units.”
