Albert Maloney Services Friday in Newport Beach

Memorial services will be held Friday for Albert L. Maloney of Newport Beach, who introduced football to Japan in 1935.
The 82-year-old Maloney died Sunday at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach.
A former USC quarterback, Maloney organized a good-will trip to Japan and headed a group of 35 U.S. college all-star football players who participated in 10 football games and two rugby matches during a 60-day visit.
A health and fitness devotee, Maloney was the retired founder and president of Preventive Dentistry Products Inc. of Costa Mesa.
He is survived by his wife, Holly, and 3 children. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. at Pacific View Memorial Park and Mortuary in Newport Beach.
