Duarte Flies to U.S. for Cancer Treatment

SAN SALVADOR — President Jose Napoleon Duarte, who is suffering from terminal liver and stomach cancer, traveled to Washington on Wednesday for a ninth treatment session, his doctor said.
Duarte, 63, whose term ends June 1, had returned to El Salvador from the Walter Reed Army Medical Center on April 3 after a seven-day stay. Duarte suffered a relapse April 6, his doctor, Luis Saca, said.
