Jacobson Leads Saddleback to State Golf Title

Bob Jacobson won the individual title to help lead Saddleback College to its third state golf title in seven years Monday at the Del Rio Golf Course in Modesto.

Saddleback, which also won state titles in 1983 and 1985 under Coach Bill Cunerty, shot a team score of 777 over 36 holes.

Jacobson won the individual title with a 149. He shot 71 in the morning round and 78 in the afternoon. Canada finished second at 782 and Canyons third at 800. Orange Coast finished seventh at 812.

John Gillis of Saddleback shot 150 to finish third. Kevin Goto and Joel Manion shot 159 and David Harwood 160, also for Saddleback.
