Irvine Sensors Corp. lost $262,500 for the second fiscal quarter ended April 2, more than double the $123,600 loss for the comparable quarter in 1988. Revenue declined 20%, to $710,200 from $886,300. For the first half of fiscal 1989, the company lost $456,500, compared to a loss of $379,800 for the like period last year. Revenue dropped 8%, to $1.4 million from $1.5 million. James Alexiou, president, said the timing of specific awards interrupted the quarter-to-quarter improvements that the company experienced over the last year and a half. Irvine Sensors, headquartered in Costa Mesa, develops infrared devices and high-density packages of computer electronics for military and commercial systems.
