IN BRIEF : Terrapin Coach, Under Cloud, Quits

COLLEGE PARK, Md. —  Bob Wade, whose program has been under NCAA investigation for almost two months, has resigned his position as head basketball coach at the University of Maryland, it was announced today.

Wade and the Terrapin basketball program came under investigation by the NCAA and the university’s legal counsel in late February when Wade informed Maryland athletic director Lew Perkins that members of his staff had violated NCAA rules by providing a recruit with transportation to classes.
