Newbury Park Advances to Regional Golf Final

Brian Lamb shot four-over-par 76 to lead Newbury Park High to a second-place finish Monday in the Southern Section team golf championships at North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village.
The Panthers finished with a five-man total of 401, one stroke behind Estancia of Costa Mesa.
For the first time in school history, Newbury Park--which finished second in the Marmonte League--advances to the Southern California team final, which will be played June 12 in Bakersfield.
Genio Borghi posted Newbury Park’s second-best score at 79. Steve Holmes shot 80, Sean Tennant carded 81 and Dave Nesbitt shot 85.
Also qualifying for the Southern California team final were Sunny Hills of Fullerton at 402 and Long Beach Millikan (405).
