Dana Hills’ Bestor Loses Golf Playoff

Joe Acosta of Visalia Redwood High School shot a 71 to defeat Mike Bestor of Dana Hills in a playoff to win the boys’ individual title at the California Interscholastic Federation-Southern California Golf Assn. championships Monday.

Acosta and Bestor each shot par 144 during the two-day tournament at the Bakersfield Country Club.

Bakersfield West had three players shoot a four-over 76 to win the team championship at 388. Estancia was second at 393, Millikan was third at 395 and Sunny Hills fourth at 397.
